Google Chrome OS X Beta Now Available

It’s finally here – the Google Chrome Beta is now available on OS X. Although the browser has been available for Windows for some time now, Chrome has not been compatible with OS X. Google Chrome can now be found in the Free Apps page and on the Chrome website. Google Chrome how-tos are on the way!

Apple, others hit with lawsuit over '90s Ethernet patents

A Texas company has targeted Apple and a number of other technology companies in a new lawsuit regarding a handful of computer networking patents issued in the 1990s...Specifically, the lawsuit from U.S. Ethernet Innovations targets Apple's MacBook Pro, along with hardware from a number of other manufacturers. The complaint was filed in a U.S. District Court in the Eastern District of Texas earlier this month...In addition to Apple, the lawsuit names Acer, ASUS, Dell, Fujitsu, Gateway, Hewlett Packard, Sony and Toshiba as defendants. In an analysis of the world's most valuable brands, Apple ranked among the top companies in generating social media interest on services such as Myspace, Facebook, and Twitter...When comparing both lists, Apple showed the biggest gain between the two, going from #20 in Interbrand's rankings to #2 in the Sysomos list.

Apple Allows In-App Purchases in Free iPhone Apps

iPhone owners can now purchase extra content through free iPhone apps, whereas before in-app purchasing was only available in apps that cost money...Some examples of what this means: You can download a free game, and after you complete the levels, you can decide to buy more levels within the app. Or you could download a free news content app, and if you liked what you read, you can opt to pay for some exclusive premium content.
